CA1182 Rare Pair of Galle French Empire Candlesticks

A fine pair of French Empire period patinated and gilt bronze ormolu candlesticks in the manner of Claude Galle (1757-1815). Not stamped, so attributed. Galle delivered two identical sets to these candlesticks to Fontainebleau Palace between 1804 and 1805 (see Jean-Pierre Samoyault, Pendules et Bronzes d’Ameublement Entres Sous Le Premier Empire 1989 p177). Circa 1805.
