Beautiful small late 18th / early 19th Century French Empire gilt bronze ormolu and grey marble 'Retour d'Egypte' paperweight in the form of the Egyptian god Horus in the form of a falcon. Well modelled, finely cast and chased, mercury gilded, presented on a nicely figured Bleu Turquin Capella marble block base (repairs to base). France, circa 1800.
