CA0798 Small Grand Tour Bronze Bust of Demosthenes

Nice quality 19th Century Grand Tour gilt and patinated bronze small cabinet portrait bust of Demosthenes (384-322BC) the Greek statesman and Orator of Athens who opposed Macedonian expansion under Philip II and Alexander the Great. Even dark brown patination inscribed 'Demosthene' to the front. Mounted on a gilt bronze stepped circular base. Italian, circa 1840.
