Good quality late 19th century Grand Tour alabaster model of Spinario, after the original Greco-Roman Hellenistic sculpture in the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Capitoline Museum, Rome. Depicting a boy withdrawing a thorn from the sole of his foot it is often referred to as the Boy with the Thorn or Fedele (Fedelino). Good size. Italy, circa 1890.
