Important early 19th Century mercury gilded bronze and marble French Empire mantel clock by François-Eugène Lesieur. Case attributed to Antoine-André Ravrio (1759-1814). Green ‘marbre vert’ base surmounted by two gilt bronze figures depicting ‘Venus Guided by Love’. 8 day silk suspension movement signed ‘Lesieur a Paris’ in gold, sits within an altar style pediment with applied mounts. Paris, France, circa 1805.
