CA0569 Rare pair of Napoleon bronzes as revolutionary General and Emperor by Riviere

Very rare late 19th century pair of finely realised patinated bronzes of Napoleon as a revolutionary General and as Emperor by Vincent Riviere. Seldom seen as a pair the first depicts a young dashing Napoleon as a young Revolutionary General-in-chief of the Army of Italy and the second as the older mature statesman and Emperor of the French in military uniform. Both on naturalistic bases signed 'V. Riviere' to the side. Beautifully cast and presented on Siena marble block bases. French, circa 1870.
