CA0451 Rare Pair of Thomas Hope Athenienne candlesticks

Beautiful pair of early 19th century English Regency patinated and gilt bronze ormolu Athenienne candlesticks in the manner of Thomas Hope. Fine examples, conceived in the form of a Roman Athenniene tripod alter with paw feet sitting on rouge giotte marble bases. Complete with original flame form snuffers. The original pattern for these candlesticks was introduced around 1800 at Hope's Duchess Street house. Excellent condition. English, circa 1825.
