Unusual 19th Century French Neoclassical Encrier

Unusual, attractive and very decorative 19th century French Empire/Charles X style neo classical gilt bronze ormolu encrier inkwell in the form of a Roman vasca or bath with winged lion paw feet. Presented on its original patinated bronze block base. Beautifully cast and chased. French, circa 1840.
