CA0409 Grand Tour bronze of the Venus de Milo

Good quality, late 19th century Grand Tour patinated bronze model of one of the most famous Greek sculptures, the Venus de Milo. Stamped to the side with the Reduction Merchanique seal of Achille Collas which means it is an exact copy of the original now thought to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch dating from around 130BC and on permanent display at in the Louvre in Paris. Mounted on an associated oval Marbre Vert block base. French, probably Paris, circa 1890.
