CA0249 Impressive pair of 19thC Louis XVI revival figural chenets
A large impressive good quality pair of 19th century French Louis XVI revival bronze and patinated bronze chenets depicting a seated male and female putti warming their hands by an open flame. The beautifully modelled putti with a fine even, almost black, patination sit upon natural bronze architectually inspired bases. Excellent condition. Possibly once part of a larger fender. French circa 1890.
Provenance: Baron John Mauger Langin. Formerly a barrister he traded in his gown and wig for the life of an antique dealer from his premises in Portobello and Putney.
