CA0211 Rare Grand Tour Verdigris Bronze Sleeping Faun
19th century Grand Tour verdigris patinated bronze of the Sleeping Faun or Satyr, after the antique. The original, excavated from the Villa of the Papyri, Herculaneum in 1752, can now be seen at the National Archaeological Museum, Naples. Well modelled good quality example, rare dark green patination. Italy, possibly Rome, circa 1860.
