CA1087 19th Century Grand Tour Bronze Discobulus
Rich black patinated late 19th Century Grand Tour Neapolitan bronze 'Discobulus', after the antique. The marble original, discovered at Hadrian's Villa, was acquired by the Vatican Museum in Rome and is now in the Sala della Biga. A similar model, the 'Townley Discobulus', is in the British Museum. After the antique original by Myron. Italy circa 1890.
