CA0476 A fine pair of prints from the Triumphs of Alexander series by Le Brun

A pair of small highly detailed 19th century etchings from the original series of paintings depicting the Triumphs of Alexander the Great by Charles Le Brun (1619-1690) now in the Louvre, Paris. These two examples show The Battle of Arbella and The Wounded King Porus carried before Alexander after the Battle of the Hydaspes River. Very popular series of prints through the Enlightenment of the 18th century and the neoclassicism of the 19th century. Contemporary ebonised wood frame and mount.
