Empire Style Ormolu Desk Frame

Attractive 19th century gilt bronze ormolu French Empire style easel desk frame. Decorated with classically inspired torcheres or cornucopia filled with fruit, stylised acanthus leaves and surmounted by a lovely pair of winged griffins. Original back panel, strut and silk. Napoleon III period. France, circa 1870.
