Fine Pair of French Empire Candlesticks

Beautiful pair of early 19th Century French Empire period gilt bronze ormolu candlesticks. Ornately cast and decorated with a central frieze of four classical ecstatic dancing maidens. Very similar to figures on candlesticks and candelabra attributed to Pierre-Philippe Thomire. Typical foliate Empire designs to the base with stylised achanthus leaves and scales to the stem. Super example of all things Empire.
