CA0757 Grand Tour Furietti Centaur on Rosso di Verona marble

Very fine example of an early 19th Century Grand Tour patinated bronze of the young Furietti Centaur, after the antique original discovered and excavated at Hadrian's Villa in 1736 and now on permanent display in the Musei Capitolini, Rome. Good size, beautifully cast with exquisite detail and a deep dark even patina. Presented on a rich Marmo Rosso di Verona slab base. Italy, Rome, circa 1820.
