CA0764 Grand Tour oil lamp after the antique

Beautiful example of a 19th Century Neapolitan Grand Tour patinated and gilt bronze oil lamp, after the antique Roman originals, in the manner of Chiurazzi. Rare triple front oil lamp with superb snake counter balance on a fluted column stand with a another gilt bronze snake. Unusual bronze base with tri zoomorphic legs and hoof feet, stylised acanthus leaf designs in the manner of candlesticks by Barbedienne. Naples, Italy, circa 1880.
