CA0680 Fine Grand Tour painting of the Palatine Hill in Rome

Evocative and rare early 20th Century painting of a view of the ancient ruins of the arches of the Palatine Hill in Rome by the British artist Marianne H W Robilliard. There is little information on this artist, active, published and exhibited between 1908-1920 and painted other views of the Roman Forum during this period. Oil on canvas laid onto board in its original frame. Signed Marianne Robilliard and dated 1910. Beautiful, superbly executed late Grand Tour painting of a seldom seen part of Ancient Rome.
