CA0457 Grand Tour Alabaster Model of the Colosseum

A very rare 19th century Grand Tour alabaster cabinet size architectural model of the Colosseum in Rome. Carved in white and grey veined alabaster. Mounted on a white alabaster base lightly inscribed COLOSSEO. A good detailed example of the paramount archaeological building in the Roman Forum. Rome, circa 1870.
