Fine quality pair of rare late 19th century neoclassical patinated bronze busts of the gods Mars and Mercury after the French sculptor Jean Jules Salmson (1823-1902). Stunning looking pair of good sized library busts, well cast and nicely detailed presented on patinated and gilt bronze socle bases mounted on black and Marbre Vert columns. France, circa 1880.
